Day of Ukrainian Cossacks and Day of Defenders of Ukraine
Today, October 1, we celebrate several important holidays at once: the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks and the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. It is a day when the past and the present merge together. Under the Protection of the Mother of God, our ancestors, the Ukrainian Cossacks, defended their native land, and today modern soldiers continue this great tradition, defending the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
A cycle of educational events was held on this topic, which was attended by:
candidate of historical sciences, social pedagogue Nadiia Mykolaivna Melnychuk,
candidate of historical sciences Oksana Mykhailivna Dovhalets, head of the student self-government Kokil Sofiia, Iryna Dubynetska, head of the "Educational work" sector.
Rector, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Rostyslav Sabadyshyn and head of the cyclic committee of social and humanitarian disciplines, ccandidate of pedagogical sciences Liudmyla Artemenko, addressed congratulatory words.
The reconstruction of the image of a Ukrainian Cossack and a modern warrior was interesting. It reminds us that the strength of spirit and steadfastness of ideals remain unchanged throughout the centuries. Just as the Cossacks defended their land with a saber in their hands, today's heroes defend the country with high-tech weapons, but with the same devotion and love for the Motherland.
We do not forget those who defended our land from invaders once and those who defend it now. Glory to Ukraine!
