he Rivne Medical Academy held a requiem event dedicated to the 39th anniversary of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant accident.

The students of the “Pharmacy” department, led by teachers Halyna Holobosh, Liudmyla Stibysh, and Tamara Onyshchuk, jointly recalled the events of April 26, 1986. The teachers told the students about the chemical processes that occurred at the time of the explosion and how radiation affected the environment and humans.

The Deputy director on educational work Svitlana Bukhalska spoke about the consequences of the Chornobyl accident, the impact on the human body, and the mutations that arose as a result.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Volodymyr Babiak reminded that the consequences of the Chornobyl accident will be felt for a long time, because our territory is naturally poor in iodine, so the catastrophe had a significant impact on the endocrine system of the population of the northern regions.

Those present honored the memory of the liquidators who gave their lives, saving all living things from the terrible radiation threat, with a minute of silence...
