The Professional Medical College of the Rivne Medical Academy hosted an event dedicated to the 39th anniversary of the Chornobyl accident - an event that became one of the largest man-made disasters in the history of mankind.

This day is not only a reminder of the tragedy of April 26, 1986, but also a deep respect for those who, at the cost of their own lives, stopped the radiation threat to millions.

The second-year students of the department “Dentistry” together with their teacher Anna Serheieva, honored the memory of the liquidators, reviewed archival materials, and discussed the long-term consequences of the disaster for health, the environment, and future generations.

Special attention during the event was paid to the medical aspect: the role of doctors in eliminating the consequences of the accident, radiation safety issues, and modern challenges for the environment and the healthcare system.

We remember. We learn. We make conclusions — for a safe future.
