Learning medicine is also about knowing your people
Students of the Rivne Medical Academy, together with teachers Svitlana Bukhalska, Vitalii Kishchuk and Kateryna Derhunova, visited the Rivne Regional Library - a space where knowledge comes to life and opens up new meanings.
During the visit, they got acquainted with the capabilities of the institution, its resources and modern work formats that can be useful in teaching and scientific activities.
Particularly valuable was the meeting with local historian Halyna Danylchuk, who spoke about Mykhailo Nosal - an outstanding scientist, doctor and researcher of medicinal plants, whose name is closely associated with the Rivne region. On the 140th anniversary of his birth, this figure sounds especially relevant.
Mykhailo Nosal is one of those who actually formed the basis of phytotherapy in Ukraine. His research on medicinal plants, knowledge of folk medicine and scientific approach became the basis for many generations of doctors. He connected a significant part of his life and work with Rivne, where he worked, researched and passed on his experience.
Separately, we spoke about the Nosal family - a dynasty that made a significant contribution to the development of medicine, science and cultural life of the city and the country.
A closer acquaintance with the outstanding figures of our region will inspire future doctors and pharmacists to develop their own profession.
