A quiet and moving event was held at the Rivne Medical Academy, dedicated to honoring the millions of innocent people who were killed during the Holodomor of 1932–1933 in Ukraine — the genocide of the Ukrainian people, artificially organized by the totalitarian regime.

The students and lecturers Halyna Holobosh and Tamara Onyshchuk read eyewitness memories that still pierce the heart with pain. They recalled historical facts that testify to the conscious and purposeful nature of the crime. Thematic poetry was sung, which made it possible to feel the tragedy not only with the mind, but also with the soul.

It was especially important to draw parallels with the modern genocide of Ukrainians that Russia is carrying out today—thereby reminding us that evil is repeated where it is not named and condemned out loud.

By tradition, the participants lit a memorial candle — a symbol of the light that will never go out in the hearts of Ukrainians, and a reminder of our duty: to remember, bear witness, and prevent a repetition of the tragedy.
