Medical School in action!
As a part of the implementation of the educational project “Medical School”, an online lecture was held for students of the Stavets Gymnasium of the Holovyn Village Council on March 23. The event was conducted by the teacher of the Rivne Medical Academy, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Nataliia Perekhodko.
The topic of the meeting — “The History of alcohol: from a ritual drink to a social problem” — aroused lively interest among schoolchildren and became the basis for a meaningful conversation about the role of alcohol in the history of mankind and its impact on modern society. During the lecture, students learned about the origins of the use of alcoholic beverages in different cultures, their importance in religious rituals and traditions, as well as the gradual transformation of attitudes towards alcohol in different historical eras.
The lecturer paid special attention to the problem of alcohol abuse in the modern world, its impact on human health, social relations and quality of life. In an accessible and at the same time scientifically based form, the risks of addiction formation were considered, as well as the importance of a responsible attitude towards one's own health.
Conducting such lectures is an important component of educational activities, as they help to form a conscious attitude towards one's own health among young people, develop critical thinking and make responsible decisions in everyday life.
