As part of the Medical_School project, a thought-provoking lecture was held at Rivne Lyceum №8 — “Mind or Emotions: IQ or EQ.”

Speakers Olena Horska and Nataliia Povar spoke to high school students about how we actually make decisions: rationally or emotionally. And the answer turned out to be not so unambiguous.

Participants learned that behind every emotion there is a certain need, and the needs themselves are formed based on our values. That is, emotions are not a weakness, but an important signal that you should be able to recognize.

It was not without practice. Students tried to use “I-Messages” — a way to talk about their feelings without conflicts and accusations.

Separately, they got acquainted with the EVE algorithm — an emotional support tool that helps to better understand others and effectively respond in difficult situations.

It was a dialogue about ourselves, our emotions, and the decisions we make every day.
