Sexual education is not about uncomfortable topics, but about health, safety and understanding oneself. This was exactly the conversation that Roman Skoreiko, a teacher at the Rivne Medical Academy, had with 8th grade students of Rivne Gymnasium № 10 as part of the Medical_School educational project.

Teenagers learned about the peculiarities of the development of female and male bodies, the concepts of sexuality, puberty, the importance of taking care of themselves and timely seeking medical attention. The topics of risks in the digital environment were also covered - in particular, the distribution of intimate photos, as well as signs of sexual violence and the importance of personal boundaries.

A separate part of the meeting was devoted to methods of contraception, with a focus on those that are the safest and most appropriate for teenagers.

Such classes are not only about facts. It's about responsibility, trust, respect for yourself and others. And that's where growing up begins - consciously and safely.
