Rivne Medical Academy hosts respected guests
An extremely warm, open and meaningful meeting took place in the walls of the MIHE "Rivne Medical Academy": the educational institution was visited by the Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk, People's Deputy of Ukraine Serhii Yevtushok, Chairman of the Rivne Regional Council Andrii Karaush, and First Deputy Chairman of the Rivne Regional Council Mykola Kucheruk.
The event was held as part of a series of open dialogues with famous personalities organized by the Academy for students and teachers.
The hall was full - teachers and students came not only to listen to the guest of honor, but also to communicate openly, ask questions that concern them, and share their own vision of certain challenges facing medical education and youth in general.
Ms. Kondratiuk gave a short speech about the role of youth in the transformations of Ukrainian society, about the challenges our country is experiencing, and about the importance of honest, high-quality, humane medical education. She emphad that today medicine is not only about a profession, but also about a mission: to serve people, to protect life.
But the most valuable thing in this meeting was the live communication. Students asked direct and even sharp questions - and received no less frank answers. In particular, it was about the legalization of medical cannabis, the operation of the law and possible options for changing it.
The topics of medical reform, challenges in the field of employment of young specialists, high requirements for future doctors when passing the "Steps" exam, and support for youth initiatives were also covered. The dialogue gave rise to not only questions, but also ideas - the participants in the discussion shared their own views, proposed solutions, and discussed problems from the perspective of students and practicing teachers.
Olena Kondratiuk listened attentively, responded, and discussed. Her presence at the academy was a confirmation that the voice of the medical community is important and must be heard at the highest level. Such meetings are not only a way to bring young people closer to politics and governance, but also a great opportunity for students to see an example of openness, sincerity, and responsible leadership.
