A large-scale scientific and educational event was held at the Rivne Medical Academy — “Nobel Readings: Nobel laureates from Ukraine”. The event brought together students, teachers and scientists from Rivne and Ternopil, creating a space for dialogue about great discoveries and those behind them.

The readings were opened by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Rector of the Rivne Medical Academy Roman Shustyk, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, First Vice-Rector of Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatiuk Nadiia Drobyk, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of the Department of General Biology and Methodics of Natural Disciplines, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology Oksana Bodnar. Together they emphad: the Ukrainian mark in world science is significant, and the young generation has all chances to continue this tradition.

Then, a series of inspired student speeches awaited the participants. Reports were made on the history of the Nobel Prize, Roald Hoffmann, a laureate with Ukrainian roots, Zelman Waksman and his discovery of streptomycin, the life and scientific path of Heorhii Harpak and Herbert Charles Brown, the genius of immunology Illia Mechnikov, Mariia Skłodowska-Curie and Rosalind Franklin, women who changed the history of science.

Each speech is not just the retelling of facts, but stories about people who, with their intelligence and work, influenced the development of chemistry, medicine, and biology.

Nobel readings have already become a tradition that helps students see science not only in textbooks, but in living stories of struggle, search, and inspiration.
