The 15th of October is Global Handwashing Day
Washing your hands is much more than a habit. It is a simple, scientifically proven way to protect yourself and others from a multitude of diseases.
This day was launched in 2008 at the initiative of UNICEF. Since then, millions of people around the world have joined in actions, flash mobs and educational events, reminding us that every hand washed is a small contribution to a healthy society.
Today, for our second-year students of the "General Medicine" department, the teachers of the subject "Introduction to the Specialty" Mariia Mokhir and the head of the cyclic committee of therapeutic disciplines and nursing basics Tetiana Demianchuk organized a guest lecture, which was held by the coordinator of hand hygiene of the infection control department of the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital after Yurii Semeniuk Nataliia Misiura.
The students were introduced to the history of the holiday, explained the importance of high-quality and thorough hand washing, and, of course, mastered the correct technology in practice.
