This day draws attention to an important topic - preserving the health and life of people during the provision of medical care. Patient safety is one of the main principles of healthcare and a basic condition for quality treatment.

In 2025, the slogan of the day is “Patient Safety from the Start”. It reminds us that caring for a patient begins from the first minutes of his stay in the medical system: from an accurate diagnosis to safe treatment and support.

At the Rivne Medical Academy, we educate future specialists who understand: patient health begins with attention, responsibility and compliance with safety standards.

So today, the second-year students of the “Medical business” department visited the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital named after Yurii Semeniuk. Here, together with teachers Mariia Mokhir and Tetiana Demianchuk, they got acquainted with the key principles of patient safety that are followed in the regional rehabilitation center. And together with the teachers Viktoriia Sternik and Oleksandr Kukharchuk, they discussed the topic of patient safety using the example of the work of the anesthesiology and intensive care department.

They also analyzed the meaning of the articles of the European Charter of Patients' Rights and identified the main tasks of ensuring patient safety for the patient himself or his relatives, a medical worker and a medical student.
