Today, at the Regional Center for Orphan Diseases, Radiation Protection and Special Assistantce, Svitlana Shadyi, the teacher of the highest category of the cyclic committee of disciplines of the therapeutic profile and the basics of nursing, held a master class “Diagnosis and Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus”.

Svitlana Marko, a laboratory assistant of the clinical laboratory, explained the method of determining glycated hemoglobin and emphad the importance of its determination for the diagnosis and control of the treatment of diabetes mellitus.

Olena Vozniuk, a manipulative nurse of the endocrinology department, demonstrated the determination of blood glucose using a glucometer. The senior nurse of the department, Nataliia Vershylo, told the students about the types of insulin, the features of storage, dosage and administration of insulin, and emphad the importance of students acquiring skills in insulin administration and patient self-education.
