The Language of Medicine: How Latin Unites the World
As part of the methodological month of the cyclic committees of social and humanitarian disciplines and foreign languages, a cognitive master class was held, which opened a new perspective on the language of medicine for students.
The teacher Olha Ryshchuk conducted a lesson during which, together with the students, they traced the deep connection between Latin, English and Ukrainian. After all, modern European languages originate from the times of Ancient Rome and this is especially noticeable in professional medical vocabulary.
The participants not only studied the consonance of words, but also immersed themselves into the meaning of term elements in the names of medicines. This approach allows not only to memorize complex names, but also to understand their essence, which is extremely important for future doctors.
The master class was held in a lively, interactive atmosphere, encouraging analysis, discussion and discoveries. Because language is not only about words. It's about understanding, accuracy and professionalism!
