On Earth Day, it is especially felt how closely medicine and the environment are connected. After all, human health begins with the quality of water, air, and the environment in which we live.

That is why students of the specialty "Nursing" - future nurses and paramedics - visited the Rivne Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention. And it was not just an excursion, but a real immersion into the world of modern laboratory diagnostics.

During the visit, the head of the sanitary and hygienic laboratory, Yuliia Ohorodnik, and a graduate of our institution and currently the head of the laboratory of physical factors, Dmytro Poliukhovych, conducted an informative excursion for the students. The participants saw how water, soil, and food products are tested, as well as how the level of radioactive contamination is controlled.

All of this is carried out within the course “Medical Biology with Fundamentals of Ecology and Preventive Medicine”, which is taught by Hanna Serheieva and Svitlana Bukhalska. The main thing in such visits is the opportunity to see how the theory works in real life.
