The first-year students of the specialty "Therapy and Rehabilitation" of the Rivne Medical Academy visited the Rivne Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, where they got acquainted with what directly affects human health - parasites and vectors of infections.

Together with teachers Mariana Kaskiv and Vita Sternik, the first-year students worked with real samples and research.

The focus is on helminths, ticks and mosquitoes as carriers of dangerous diseases. As well as the features of their detection and research. The event was organized at the intersection of human anatomy and medical biology, which allowed students to more deeply understand the relationship between the structure of the human body and the features of the vital activity of parasites.

Students learned what helminths look like, how they are identified and what risks they pose to the human body. Special attention was paid to ticks and mosquitoes - because they are an important section in the spread of infectious diseases.

It was an experience that changes perception: when complex topics become understandable through practice, and medicine becomes more perceptible and real.

This is how clinical thinking and professional attention to details that matter are formed.
