For three days, from May 12 to 14, 2023, at Rivne Medical Academy the chess competition was held under the program of the Sports Games of Ukraine 2023 among institutions of professional pre-higher education. The competition was held in three types of chess - classic chess, rapid chess and blitz.

Before the start of the competition, the head of the Rivne Regional Branch of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Aleksiichuk Oleksandr Anatoliiovych and the dean of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Faculty, Ph.D., associate professor Larysa Rostyslavivna Korobko addressed the athletes with a welcome speech.

In a tense and uncompromising struggle, the first place in classical chess was won by the chess players of Lviv region, the athletes of Vinnytsia were the second, and the chess players of Kherson region closed the three prize winners.

In rapid chess, athletes from Lviv took the first place, Vinnytsia took the second place, and athletes from Rivne region took the third place.

On the final day of the competition, athletes competed in blitz chess. And this time there were no equals to the chess players from Lviv region, who were predicted to become the first in this discipline. Chess players from Vinnytsia were the second in the next round, and athletes from Rivne region rounded out the top three winners.

According to the results of three days of competition, the places were divided as follows:

• 1st place - Lviv region.

• 2nd place - Vinnytsia region.

• 3rd place - Rivne region.

• 4th place - Kherson region.
