World Contraception Day, celebrated on September 26, is designed to draw attention to the consequences of lack of sexual education and call to talk about protection from unwanted pregnancy without taboos.

As part of the methodological month of cyclic committees, the head of the cyclic committee of professionally oriented disciplines, the teacher of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the specialist of the highest category, a teacher-methodologist Bohdan Nychyk held an open lecture dedicated to this day. The main goal of the event is to provide knowledge and the right to independently choose methods of contraception.

The students of the 2nd year of the department “Orthopedic Dentistry”, the 3rd and 4th years of the department “Medical business” were told about the general characteristics of contraceptive methods, their mechanisms of action, the necessity and rationality of their choice for different age groups. They also presented educational materials dedicated to this topic.

Modern means not only help to plan the future, but also, which is extremely important, reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections.
