Genetics is no longer about science fiction, but about modern medicine that helps to identify risks in time and save lives.

On May 20, the students of the departments of "General Medicine" and "Nursing" of the Rivne Medical Academy joined the workshop "Methods of Genetic Research. Medical and Genetic Counseling" at the Rivne Regional Clinical Medical and Diagnostic Center named after V. Polishchuk.

Together with teachers Svitlana Bukhalska and Hanna Serheieva, the students immersed themselves in the world of medical genetics, modern research methods and features of medical and genetic counseling.

Specialists of the medical and genetic center talked about modern methods of genetic research, hereditary diseases, the importance of early diagnosis, the work of genetic laboratories and psychological support for patients and families during counseling.

In particular, the head of the Rivne Regional Medical Genetics Center, Liubov Yevtushok, medical geneticist Hanna Havriushenko, laboratory assistant Tamara Rozumniuk, and clinical psychologist Iryna Hranovska shared their own experience of working with students during the workshop.
