It is not just clothes – it is history encoded in patterns
A warm and extremely atmospheric event "Embroidery from Grandma's Box" was held at the Rivne Medical Academy. The Deputy Director of the college for educational work Svitlana Bukhalska and Associate Professor of the Department of social and humanitarian disciplines Oksana Dovhalets spoke about the traditions of Ukrainian embroidery, the symbolism of ornaments and the modern rethinking of the authentic shirt.
The participants learned that each pattern is not only beauty, but also a special meaning: a talisman, a wish for fate, a memory of the family and generation. Particular attention was drawn to the story of how today traditional embroidery is combined with modern fashion and remains relevant in everyday life.
The real decoration of the meeting was the demonstration of shirts from Oksana Dovhalets' personal collection. Each of them is handmade, created with love, patience and respect for Ukrainian traditions.
Such events are not just about culture. They are about the connection between generations, about the memory we carry in embroidered threads, and about the Ukrainian identity that lives in every ornament.
