A light that you can’t turn off: the Academy celebrated Volunteer Day
Sometimes, an important conversation doesn’t require a stage or bright lighting. It’s enough for people who have gathered together with sincere thoughts and respect for those who are defending Ukraine today.
A cosy evening event “Hymn — the Heart of Ukraine” dedicated to the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer and the Day of the National Anthem of Ukraine was held in Dormitory No. 2 of the Rivne Medical Academy.
The main guest of the meeting was volunteer, military doctor and teacher of Pharmacology Taras Husaruk. For students, it was not just a lecture or an official conversation. It was a living story of a person who voluntarily stood up for the defense of the country.
The event was prepared by the residents of Dormitory No. 2 together with the teacher Larysa Kazmiruk.
The event’s program combined several formats — a historical excursion, poetic words and music. Almost at the very beginning, the lights went out. But the students decided not to interrupt the meeting. The event continued by candlelight.
In the semi-darkness, words about the history of the anthem, about volunteers, about people who stood up for the country without hesitation sounded. In such an atmosphere, each song, each line of poetry sounded differently - quieter, but deeper.
This event turned out to be intimate and very sincere. And even without electricity, it did not become dark - because the real light was created by people who came together.
