For the third year the #Medical_School is visiting the Kvasyliv Lyceum. This time, the meeting took place with two groups of 11th graders and one group of 10th grade. Olena Horska and Nataliia Povar talked about the nutrition of teenagers and the daily habits that gradually shape their attitude towards their own health.

Debunking myths, they talked about how to form a balanced “food plate” and how to choose products according to its principles, why it is important to combine vegetables and fruits, whole grains, protein sources and healthy fats in the diet, as well as the importance of a regular diet.

Special attention was paid to practical things: how to make a healthy sandwich for school, what to choose for a snack so that it is nutritious and balanced. We also talked about the importance of controlling salt, sugar, and trans fats, as well as how these components can be “hidden” in common foods. Students also learned what to look for when reading labels.

We sincerely thank the students and teachers of the lyceum for their openness to conversation, activity, and trust. We are forming a culture of conscious attitude to nutrition and health together.
