Nutrition without myths - simple and clear
The #Medical_School project continues to talk to schoolchildren about important things - this time about nutrition that really works.
Rivne Medical Academy teacher Olena Horska held two meetings for schoolchildren - offline at the "Ukrainian" lyceum in Rivne and online for students of the Stavets gymnasium of the Holovyn village council.
We talked with pupils of the 11th grade in the most practical way: what is a "healthy food plate", why is the regime important, what does a balanced breakfast and dinner look like. We discussed snacks - which ones are really healthy, why are they needed and what is better to avoid. We also addressed popular questions: when to eat fruit and what to choose for dinner.
The online meeting with schoolchildren in grades 8–9 was also active and lively. Together, we debunked myths about nutrition, learned to form a plate for each meal, and talked about sources of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. And most importantly, the students saw how the knowledge of chemistry and biology works in real life.
Because proper nutrition is not difficult. It is about understanding, balance and daily decisions. And this is exactly what we teach at the Academy.
