On November 10, 2024, at the Rivne Medical Academy, a training and practical seminar entitled "Challenges and opportunities of rehabilitation: the experience of a patient with a cervical spine injury" was held at the Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. It was dedicated to the practical experience of recovery after a serious injury to the cervical spine. The participants of the seminar had the opportunity to hear a story from the first person - a person who went through a difficult process of adaptation, physical and psychological rehabilitation.

The main topics of the seminar included:

1. The patient's personal experience: A story about the path from the moment of injury to the rehabilitation stage, experiences and emotional difficulties that had to be faced.

2. Physical rehabilitation: Discussion of methods and exercises that helped improve physical condition, including therapeutic approaches, physiotherapy, special exercises that help restore mobility and strengthen muscles.

3. Psychological support: Psychological aspects of rehabilitation, methods of overcoming fears and depression, the importance of motivation and support from family, medical professionals and social environment.

4. New opportunities in life: How the injury became a catalyst for the development of new interests and opportunities, for example, participation in community activities, learning new skills, the opportunity to share your experience and inspire others.

5. Recommendations for professionals: Useful tips for future physical therapists on improving the rehabilitation process, taking into account the needs of patients with similar injuries.

The goal of the seminar was not only to talk about the personal path of recovery, but also to show that even the most severe injuries can be overcome thanks to the right approach to rehabilitation, motivation, and support from the environment.
